British Airways to Operate London-Guyana Flights in 2023

Minister of Public Works, Juan Edghill on Wednesday announced that British Airways is expected to begin flying from London to Guyana in the first quarter of 2023.

The announcement was made at a press conference in Georgetown in the presence of British High Commissioner to Guyana, Jane Miller; Minister of Tourism, Oneidge Walrond and CEO of Cheddi Jagan International Corporation, Ramesh Ghir.

Minister Edghill said “British Airways is the newest carrier to enter the Guyana market,” and that the airline will be using a Boeing 777-200ER with a capacity of 322 passengers. He added that tickets will go on sale from August 10.

The service is expected to be twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays from London, Gatwick via St. Lucia beginning 27 March 2023.
